How Do You Nurture Yourself??

February 13, 2010

back to brilliance
It is stress that steals our ability to live creative and brilliant lives. Our programs guarantee the elimination of stress vs. providing only a temporary fix.

Living in our world today can be very stressful. While some of the stress that we experience is actually useful for motivating us, a point can be reached where it becomes very harmful, physically, emotionally and even spiritually. Knowing how to manage and even reduce the harmful effects of stress on a daily basis, of staying balanced and centered as we encounter the many stressors of everyday living, is crucial to our well being. Among other things, taking care of ourselves will necessarily involve us nurturing our physical body, of eating healthy foods, of exercising. Learning how to take care of ourselves in this respect is also very important for everyone as our experience of stress can and does affect others as well.

Learning how to take care of ourselves also involves making appropriate distinctions about ourselves, others and life in general. One distinction that is crucial for our well being is realizing how and from where much of our stress is primarily generated. While some of the stressors that we face are apart of what it is to be a human being, much of the stress that we experience is of our own creation. A great deal of the stress that we experience has its origin in our own personal story and the meaning we make about life, in the thoughts that we think. Once we understand that we are truly the cause in the matter, that we are responsible for the thoughts that we create or invent and that it is from these thoughts that much of our stress is generated, then and only then will we begin to be able to truly manage our stress and have the power to live the life that we want and love. Blaming others or situations for that which we experience will only limit our power, lead to frustration and eventually a great deal of stress.

Becoming present to the fact that we have a tendency to constantly evaluate, judge and even blame others, and especially ourselves, is very important. How we conceive of others and ourselves in this respect will make a huge difference in our experience of life. For example, for some much of their life is spent attempting to make others and themselves wrong, wrong for what they think and do, wrong for what we think and do. Once we make another wrong, especially ourselves, anger, anxiety, guilt, frustration and even sadness will eventually follow and with it a great deal of stress. A simple truth is that as human beings we are all doing the best that we can at any given moment. If we or others knew differently we would behave differently.

Another simple truth is that we are perfect, whole and complete just as we are. It is our story about ourselves that does not allow us to truly experience our own completeness. Making mistakes in life does not make us wrong or flawed in some way but only presents us with feedback and valuable opportunities for growth. Becoming present to how we make ourselves wrong, of how we put ourselves down, allows us an opening to realize that we are not what we do or think. Our true self is something much different. Becoming present to our attempts to make others and ourselves wrong in some manner will also create a cleaning for us to begin to think, feel and behave differently. Once we fully realize that we are perfect, whole and complete just as are, we will bring forth into our lives experiences that will truly empower us and others. It will be at this point that we will begin to authentically take care of ourselves. Taking care of ourselves in this respect will also involve taking care of our true self, of unconditionally loving ourselves completely. It is only when we truly love and accept ourselves, as we are, in the present moment that we will be able to do so with others. We always think, feel and behave towards others as we think, feel and act towards ourselves.

One manner in which we can practice being who we truly are is beginning to become aware of the thoughts and beliefs that exist within us including and especially those that are self-limiting. Meditation and other holistic, self-enhancement techniques of this nature allow us this ability and opportunity to watch, monitor and become present to our inner world, to the very thoughts that generate our life and experiences.

Learn How Practice Meditation!

Such a process will eventually allow us to truly understand that we are not our thoughts and beliefs, that we are something different from, that we are much more. Our thoughts are merely apart of the machinery of being human. Once present to the thoughts and beliefs that quickly, if not instantly, move through our mind also allows us the opportunity to reframe from impulsively acting upon them and as a result to become free from their constraints and potential harm to us and others. Such a meditative process, especially as it applies to the thoughts and beliefs that we have about ourselves, is the key to truly taking care of yourself. Such awareness will eventually allow us to truly experience the fact that we are good enough, just as we are, one that deserves to have a wonderful and powerful life, that we truly are perfect, whole and complete. Once we fully understand this for ourselves it will allow us to get it about others, for those that we work with and for those in our lives that we love. The end result of such a meditative process is that much of the stress that we experience, especially that which we create, will simply not exist, allowing us to create or invent the life that we truly want and love and to live it powerfully.

Physical,Emotional and Spiritual Wellness

February 9, 2010

This is a Fantastic article about the beauty within, and taking care of our bodies. Each one of us have three bodies, we have . A Physical body
. An Emotional body And
. A Spiritual body

All of these bodies need care.

All our bodies are connected and are part of a whole. If we neglect the care of one of them, then the others start to become neglected. So, by taking care of all three, we can become fully balanced and achieve success in anything we do.

When we are fully engaged in taking care of our bodily needs, such as keeping our bodies in good shape, exercising, eating right and living a stress free lifestyle.

Our emotional needs such as keeping good friendships, having a long and happy marriage, living with our loved ones and tolerating, forgiving and understanding others.

Finally our spiritual needs such as chanting gods name, reading Gods books, praying and giving praise to God and helping others that are less fortunate then us. We become most happy.

Our physical body

Our physical body is our outer body, flesh and bones. This is the body we work physically to build and to keep healthy. By keeping this body in shape and in health, we build our self-esteem, our self confidence and our love for ourselves.

When we work hard to have a good physical body, it means that we are truly grateful for our body. By keeping it in shape, in optimal health and appearance we build our love and appreciation for ourselves.

We also build an image that is appreciated by others. When we work hard to create a good image of our outer appearance, others see it and think highly about us.

They see that we are achievers, that we are someone special and because of this more and more people will want to be around us, or with us. They will want to listen to us. This creates self confidence in ourselves, which helps our other bodies as well.

emotional body

Our emotional body is our second body. This body is like our subtle body. It is what deals with our emotions. Having a satisfied emotional body is very essential, because without our emotional body in balance, our emotions start to wreck havoc on our physical body.

Our emotions are what drive us to do the things we do to our physical body. Without a balanced emotional state, our emotions would start to tell us things that would not benefit our body, such as “You’re not strong enough to exercise everyday why don’t you skip it today. Tomorrow you can try again” or “I don’t care about your health right now, I’m sad and I need support why don’t you eat something, so I can feel better.”

Our emotional body loves attention and when we satisfy it with good attention then it becomes pleased and is willing to co-operate with our other bodies.

Our spiritual body

Our spiritual body is our soul. Our soul is our body which is connected with God or the universe. By helping our soul to become more in tune with God or the universe, we become more happy ourselves. The soul controls our love, joy and happiness that we feel every time we help someone, every time we do a good deed or give our love and support. Every time we praise God or give thanks to the universe, our soul becomes happier.

Our spiritual body is the life giving force within ourselves. Without it, we would not be able to move, think, feel, or do anything for that matter. The soul is what gives us life.

How to keep all three healthy

Our physical body

We need to keep our physical body fit, strong, and healthy by doing daily exercises, by eating right and by doing our best to live a stress free lifestyle. If we can achieve these things, our physical body will be in top shape. We will feel full of life, energy, vigor, strength and confidence.

Our emotional body will thank us for our efforts because from having, a well toned and healthy body, we create good remarks and admiration from others. We also have good sex appeal. Our emotional body loves these things, so by keeping our physical body healthy we start to help our emotional body as well.

There are many exercises, that can help to create a great figure, and I have listed a few in the second chapter that will greatly help in creating the figure desire most.

Our emotional body

We need to keep our emotional body healthy by keeping good relationships and fixing broken ones. If we keep hold of old broken relationships and don’t try to fix them, either by healing the relationship or by forgiving and then forgetting the relationship then our emotional body still feels hurt, and the hurt can cause other problems.

Another thing about our emotional body is that it keeps thousands upon thousands of situations and thoughts inside itself. If any of these thoughts or situations are not fulfilled or completed then we are renting rent-free space in our brain for those hurtful or unfulfilled things.

If we can complete those things or forgive and forget, we can open our emotional body to better and greater things to come.

One way to help our emotional body is by talking to ourself in a mirror. This may sound funny at first but it is a very good way of helping our emotional body in its health.

We can start out by asking our self “How are you today?” and “It is good to see you again”. Then we can start by saying “I would like to complement you today on…”

We then start to list all the things that we have accomplished today. They can be very little things like going for a walk, or chewing our food properly so that our digestion will work better, or that we made a step towards a better relationship with someone, or that we are doing more exercise, or we are completing one of our goals.

Our emotional body loves hearing all these praises and it will thank us afterwords by giving us a happy and satisfied feeling.

After we are finished talking to our emotional body, we can tell our self in the mirror that we love our self. Having a healthy respect for our self is very important.

Saying this to ourself, helps a great deal in balancing our bodies, because many times we may feel that our life is missing love, or friendship, or we may be unsatisfied with our physical body and because of that unsatisfied feeling, our emotional body is affected.

However, when we tell ourself that we care and we do love ourself our emotional body becomes happier and is then more willing to listen to our needs.

Our spiritual body

We can keep our spiritual body happy by giving in charity to others in need, by being kind and humble to others, by praising God or the universe, by setting an example for others to follow.

Anything that we can do that will help others in living better, in feeling better and in learning more about God or the universe makes the soul happier. Our souls are happiest when they are in tune with God or the universe. So, by doing acts of kindness and charity to the less fortunate ones, we can further our progress towards the greater good.

If we can practice on a daily basis, be kind to everyone, be humble to others, and learn to forgive and forget, our souls will develop a great happiness, which will help us to become balanced in all three of our bodies.

Spiritual wellness

February 4, 2010

Spiritual wellness : A person engaged in the process of spiritual wellness is willing and able to transcend oneself in order to question the meaning and purpose in his/her life and the lives of others. He/she is involved in the process of questioning all that is around him/her and has an appreciation for that which cannot be completely understood.  This person seeks to find harmony between that which lies within and the social and physical forces that come from outside.  Feelings of doubt, despair, fear, disappointment and dislocation as well as feelings of pleasure, joy, eagerness and discovery are part of this search for a universal value system.
